FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, November 21, 2024

The team at Waterplay® have been busy beavers up in the Great White North and we’re thrilled to announce a global expansion that will bring us even closer to our dear friends in the Great South Land.

So lock up your polar bears, hug your koalas just a little bit tighter, and lean in close – we’re about to have a yarn.

Waterplay, the world’s most playful splash pad manufacturer, with global headquarters in Canada, has opened a new office in Sydney, Australia and brought a stellar Aussie team on board to bring more splashing fun to the region. With more than 200 splash pad installations in Australia, Waterplay is the leading manufacturer across the continent.

We happen to think the expansion is the ants’ pants (that’s Aussie slang for awesome!)

Chris Bowser will lead a new division in Australasia, bringing with him nearly two decades of extensive experience selling and installing Waterplay’s premier splash pad products. Formerly the Waterplay Product Manager at Parkequip, Bowser’s new role as General Manager Waterplay Australasia will see him strengthen ties even closer with the Waterplay team in North America. Waterplay and Bowser will continue to support Parkequip projects as they transition their business.

Waterplay’s new office in Sydney has officially opened its doors and the team has been flat out like a lizard drinking (also Aussie slang for “working hard.”) The team will be supported in Australia by its agency partners Urban Play and Dynamic Playgrounds, as well as selling directly in select markets across the continent.

With manufacturing capabilities in Australia, Waterplay customers will benefit from enhanced service and select Australian-made products, strengthening the company’s global reach and local impact.

“It’s a dream come true for me to partner with Waterplay right here in Australia,” said Bowser. “There is no better product than that manufactured by Waterplay and communities across Australia will benefit from this incredible partnership. I’ve been selling Waterplay for more than a decade and to become a part of the Waterplay team is something I’m beyond excited about.”

With operations in both hemispheres, it’s safe to say that day or night, summer or winter, splash pads will always be on!

Though Aussies and Canucks have some differences – one of us won gold in the breakdance competition at the Paris Olympics and the other delivered an “unforgettable” performance – there’s far more that we have in common.

As members of the Commonwealth, we have small populations but huge land masses. We have some of the most dangerous animals – grizzly bears and the Eastern brown snake. We thrive in harsh climates and have adventurous spirits. We’re internationally known for our funny accents and weird slang, eh? We can be accused of being overly friendly, jovial, and most importantly – we don’t take things too seriously.

With so much in common, it only makes sense for our two countries to deepen our partnership. So fire up the barbie and welcome to Waterplay Australasia!

Let’s go build some fun.
